Mr Sylvain Sibomana, the FDU-Inkingi party's interim Secretary General, who was arrested
in
Gisenyi yesterday, has been released. The Rubavu (Gisenyi) police
station returned all his belongings including identity card, digital
camera, and GSM phone today at 10:00 AM (Rwanda Time). He is on his way back to Kigali. He told
his colleagues that he is safe and sound and has not been harmed nor beaten. A
police station officer informed him last night that they have been
misinformed about his identity and that he was now free to
go.
