URGENT! Sylvain SIBOMANA, FDU-Inkingi Secretary General is missing in Rwanda after being detained.

Mr. Sylvain Sibomana, the FDU-Inkingi party's interim Secretary General disappeared around 12:40 today in Kanama, Nyundo Sector, Rubavu District (Gisenyi),  in the Western Province. His last contact was made by mobile phone while he was assaulted by security personnel for unknown reasons before he was taken to a unknown destination.

The Rwandan national police spokesperson, who was alerted in real time, advised us to discuss the matter with the local police station. All our attempts to locate him in local police and military detention facilities have been fruitless.

This happened when the court has just postponed  until next Monday , at the request of the defence, the trial of FDU-Inkingi party leader Madame Victoire Ingabire due to intensive court harassment and threats to the defendent and her lawyers by the presiding judge, Alice Rulisa.
